Maintenance Technician I - Building and Grounds
Schoolcraft, MI.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain lawn by mowing, trimming & pulling weeds as necessary.
- Remove snow & ice in winters by plowing, snow blowing, shoveling spreading salt, etc.
- Perform basic routine maintenance & repairs on building HVAC, doors, etc.
- Maintain general site appearance.
Job Duties
- Maintain lawn using mowers, string trimmers, hand tools, hands & weed killer as necessary.
- Perform snow removal using company plow truck/salt spreader, walk behind snow blower, shovels, etc.
- Perform basic building maintenance such as HVAC filter replacement, door handle repairs, water filter replacement, etc.
- Perform weekly process equipment greasing.
- Assist Maintenance Technicians as necessary.
- Work in safe professional manner, following all safety & Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) rules.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements, Skills, Qualifications, Certifications and Licenses
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Strong work ethic.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions for extended periods of time.
- Ability to operate company owned equipment (mowers, plow truck, forklifts, man lifts, etc.)
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to work at heights of 150’ on occasion.
- Ability to work in confined spaces periodically.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Interactions and Tools/Equipment Utilized in the Job
- Work with Maintenance Dept. personnel daily & all other departments within the organization periodically.
- Operate company vehicles & power tools, such as plow truck, lawn mowers, forklifts, man lifts.
- Use basic hand tools.
- Work with maintenance software to complete work orders.
Physical Requirements
- Job requires frequent walking, climbing stairs & ladders, and standing for long periods of time, and also occasional work at heights, crawling kneeling & working in confined spaces
- Job requires occasional work out of man lifts and on roof structures at elevations up to 150’
- Job includes exposure to weather in all seasons
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on occasion

- All rules and regulations of the Employee Handbook apply at all times
- Standard working hours: 6:00AM - 2:30PM, Monday - Friday. Overtime as needed.
